Brand Audits: The Lowdown

What is a Brand Audit?

A brand audit is a comprehensive assessment of your brand’s current position and helps you to develop improvement strategies to improve your brand.

You basically want to take a comprehensive look at your brand, brand assets, and marketing assets and make sure that everything is aligned with your current brand, your brand values, and your current audience. You’ll also want to ensure that your marketing is literally working for you, i.e. your website links are all working, contact info is up to date, etc.

How often should I conduct a Brand Audit?

Aim for once a year. The beginning of the calendar or fiscal year is a great time to schedule this. However if you’ve not done one to date, it’s never too late to start!

Goals for your Brand Audit:

  • Ensure your brand elements are relevant and consistent

  • Check that your marketing materials are current and reflective of your brand

  • Identify areas of improvement

Getting Started

Start by reflecting on your business’ current state. Who is your audience? What are your values? Have they changed since your business launched or your last brand design?

Take some time to gather all of your brand and marketing assets together to look at them holistically.

To save you time and energy, I went ahead and created a brand audit checklist to help you assess your brand and identify areas of improvement. Click the button below or download here!
